There are two models of Alcantara® Automotive regarding the detail, that would be manufactured. Cover is for seats or other large details, Pannel is for thin details like your dashboard or door panels.
Alcantara® Cover
Thickness: ≥ 0.95mm
Unit Weight: 325gr/m2
Suitable for car seats and other details requiring strengh and durability.
Alcantara® Pannel
Thickness: ≥ 0.83mm
Unit Weight: 230gr/m2
Very flexible and thin, suitable for steering wheel, dashboard, door panels and others.
Compared with sueded leather, Alcantara® can be up to 50 percent lighter, is harder to scratch or rip, doesn't get as cold or hot to the touch, and is highly resistant to sun fade. It's also extremely grippy, which has made it popular for steering-wheel covers and shift knobs. And since it's synthetic, it's cruelty-free.
